Application form for Summer Camp 2015

Our Summer Program encourages interactive hands-on learning utilizing a variety of materials. As the children explore their interests both in the indoor classrooms and in our beautiful outdoor environment they will create lasting memories and friendships. Topics this summer will include a curriculum based on daily sensory, art and movement activities, storytelling, along with plenty of outdoor play.

Each 2-week session of camp will focus on students’ interests within the topics of creative art and invention and scientific discoveries. During the sessions, teachers will work to provide materials and provocations to allow children to explore each topic in greater depth through individual and group activities.

Session 1: The Great Outdoors: June 15-19 & June 22-26

Let’s explore the great outdoors! During this session of camp, children will be invited to go on a nature hike, plant in the garden, search for bugs, and explore the great outdoors to learn about all different kinds of creatures. Art, science, music and dramatic play activities will help integrate our knowledge and learning.

Session 2: Wonderful World of Science: June 29-July 2 & July 6-10

We will turn into mad scientists! Children will have the chance to explore and discover all things icky, sticky, gooey, slimy, sizzling and exploding as we experiment with physics, chemistry and biology. Dramatic and gross motor play, as well as art and storytelling will be integrated into our science explorations.

Session 3: Creation Station: July 13-17 & July 20-24

This session of camp is all about creativity! Children will have the opportunity to tinker, create, and mess about with loose parts, art and building materials to create their own masterpieces and inventions. Science, art and engineering will come together as we build, plan, compose and create!

Session 4: Far, Far Away: July 27-31 & August 3-7

Let’s climb the beanstalk with Jack, build houses with the Three Little Pigs, and walk the plank with Peter Pan! We will explore these and other stories and tall tales during the last session of summer camp. Children will have the chance to read classic and modern stories and make up their own as we adventure into reading and storytelling.
